Tampa, FL Jan. 19, 2010 "Goodnight, Goodnight" is the first children's recording by noted writer Tommy Girvin (Mr. Tommy). Mr. Tommy performed at St. Joseph's Children Hospital last week in Tampa, Florida. After volunteering to perform for the children's department , he has signed up to return and volunteer on a regular basis for the hospital. Mr. Tommy performs fun folk songs for the kids and explains little known facts about well known history folk songs to add a great educational aspect to the performance.
He also plays songs from his own CD's to add a wonderful, imaginative, feel to the room. His current children's CD has such magical songs as "When I Grow Up" which represented Florida in national contests and has children think about what they would like to be when they grow up. "All children dream about what they want to be when they grow up and unfortunately due to cancer or illnesses, many children's dreams are cut short. In hopes of raising awareness, a portion of the procededs of Mr. Tommy's CD sales are being donated to the Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Together we can work to make those dreams a reality for these children.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to ride on a dragonfly's back? “Dragonflies” is just one of 12 songs from GOODNIGHT, GOODNIGHT. Other songs invite children to take a tour of the world under their feet with “Worms,” or feel the comfort of “Your Favorite Blanket” and chirp with the crickets in “Listen”. Tommy's daughter, Talia, at age 9, sings the adorable "Santa Won't You Please", and she'll melt you with the classic "The Christmas Song" (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire), and she sings background vocals, parts, and harmony throughout the CD. Background: Tommy has always strongly believed in giving back and with every CD sold, a donation will be made to The Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Plans are underway for a live in studio performance on FOX 13 Good Day Tampa Bay in mid December.

Christmas Time is Here Again A publisher asked me to write some Christmas songs in 2009. I ended up keeping them because they just feel too close to my heart. This is one of the first one’s I did. I have had the pleasure of performing this one with the Double Branch Elementary School Choir. It is a favorite of many people as well as mine. The kids sang wonderfully as usual.
